On Monday, November 28th our Girls & Boys Water Polo Teams will be Recognized at the Monthly School Board Meeting. We will meet at 5:45 PM in the Administration Building where we will line up by team and be introduced to the school board and take team photos. Please wear your State T-Shirt with Blue Jeans or Slacks. No Shorts Please. If you are unable to attend please let Coach Brown know immediately as they will likely call each team and players by cap number.
Sorry for the craziness trying to get our Swimming & Diving season started. I have included a PDF of our schedule below but wanted to make sure everyone knows it is still a work in progress. I need to determine if the Reindeer Classic is a meet we should do or pass on. Some families may have travel plans for that first Saturday of Christmas break and I don’t want to attend if we will be missing most of our varsity swimmers. I am also looking for a couple of more dual and/or tri meets since we have lost meet opportunities due to our successful water polo season. Now we get to play catch up to our opponents that have been participating in meets since September. I will notify everyone of any additions and/or changes we may have. We are going to participate in a meet next week at Clear Springs HS on Tuesday, November 15th and those that attend will miss the entire school day.
How AWESOME Is This? We are going to have a Parade for our Water Polo Teams next Sunday, November 13th. We will begin lining up at 12:30 pm (or earlier if needed). The Parade would begin at 1:00 pm. See the proposed Parade route below. The City’s of Clute and Lake Jackson will hopefully approve the plan next week. Final information will be sent out once everything is confirmed.
Congratulations to both our Girls and Boys Water Polo Teams. Both Teams made history on Saturday, October 29th by competing in the first ever 6A UIL State Water Polo Championships in San Antonio, Texas.
Our Girls qualified for the State Championship game by defeating a previously undefeated Brandeis Team 15-4 and then fought hard to the end but concluded their season as the –
2022 6A Girls UIL State Runner-Up to a very deserving and undefeated Foster Falcons Team who was the only team to defeat our Lady Bucs all season.
Our Boys rolled through their season and early playoff rounds but had to battle strong opponents in each of their final four games winning two overtime games at Region Championships to advance to State where they defeated Southlake Carroll 16-14 and advanced to the- Boys State Championship game versus an undefeated Boerne Champion. After trading goals for nearly three quarters our Bucs took control of the game early in the 4th Quarter and concluded their season undefeated with a convincing 19-10 victory and crowned as the first ever – 2022 6A Boys UIL State Champions
